The collage series was inspired by the term

metabolé

which means transformation and movement. The term draws on Aristotelian doctrine as well as alchemical writings and symbolizes the transformations of matter along with their physical and mystical premises. These pictorial representations also relate to early “scientific” explorations of the birth process — including its malformations and deformities. On a meta level, the collage series addresses the topic of inner and outer transformation, and the accompanying deviation from the norm.
